Linnaseutu is a non-governmental organization that works in the field of rural development. Its area of operation includes the municipalities of Hattula and Janakkala in their entirety, as well as the city of Hämeenlinna, excluding the central areas. Linnaseutu funds the activities of rural associations and businesses within its operational area through project grants. The funding consists of contributions from the European union, the state, and municipalities.
Linnaseutu operates as a regional developer, financier, and partner in accordance with its development strategy Katse tulevaan. The association’s purpose is to promote the diverse development of rural areas by encouraging local initiative, fostering cooperation between rural and urban areas, and facilitating networking between various regional actors both in Finland and internationally.

EUROPE DIRECT Häme & Pirkanmaa
In addition to its rural development work, Linnaseutu manages the EUROPE DIRECT Häme & Pirkanmaa information center, providing EU-related services and promoting citizen engagement with the EU. These services are offered in collaboration with Pirkan Helmi and include answering citizen queries, conducting presentations, and organizing debates about EU policies.
